Broad-Banded Watersnake

Nerodia fasciata confluens

I was taking a photography class at the Arboretum and one of the teachers brought in a baby Broad-Banded Watersnake for us to photograph. He was about 4" long. I don't know how old he was.

Houston Arboretum and Nature Center. Mixed forest with Pine, Oak, Redbud, and others.

Also known as the Southern Water Snake.
