Cascavel - Rattlesnake

Crotalus durissus

Description:

A very poisonous snake from Brasil, known around as Cascavel. It has a rattle in the end of its tail, which gives her the name Rattlesnake. When it feels threatened, it shakes the rattle making a unique and unmistakable sound. Her eyes and tongue are of a very deep dark color, and her skin had diamond patterns.

Habitat:

It was found in open field close to a house and a rainforest.

Notes:

Thought everybody says it is really dangerous and will chase you to bite, my experience was quite the opposite. We were preparing a bonfire when my friend spotted it really close to us. I went inside to take my camera, and when I started taking pics it felt threatened, starting to wrap and shake her rattle. But instead of moving forward, she made movements in a way to escape, always staring at us and warning the danger of getting close.
