Black-naped Oriole

Oriolus chinensis

Description:

Bright yellow bird with a gorgeous voice. Medium sized. Red beak. I think it is a Black-naped Oriole but I am not completely sure. Could not see its head very well.

Habitat:

In the "Green Corridor" Old Malay Railway in Singapore. Green high grass area not too close to Apartments.

Notes:

I have been hearing these birds but today I have managed to actually see what bird makes this noise. Now I wont forget.

Hello Muckpuk. The range maps that I have seen for Indian Golden Oriole put them no where near Singapore, leaving the only possibility the Black-naped Oriole?

Thank you GeoffreyPalmer.
How did you know? I was confused between the Indian Golden Oriole and the Black Naped Oriole because I could not really see the full band around its head.

Ugh. Autocorrect. "Black-naped" not "Black-napped". :-/

I would say your Black-napped Oriole is correct. Nice spotting!
