hearty plant

Description:

i am hoping to identify this plant because it has a very interesting form of branches, and just some meters away there is a small tree with the same fruit, the same leaves but normal round trunk and branches.. so i was thinking more on the lines of a parasite.. but maybe some of you know. this is more like a bush 1,70 to 2,00 m. high. while the other one is a tree of maybe 4 to 5 m.

Habitat:

north europe, but it is a garden plant so it may not be local
