We only ever used it once, then the Swallows moved into a concrete swallow nest we put there and rebuilt it with mud! A Black Redstart has used it every winter for the last few years so it gets almost full time occupancy now! We put a wet-weather washing line in a passage below the pool terrace and that is now used as a night-time roost for much of the year as well as a testing ground for young swallows.

wow! I hope they don't end up cooked in the paella..although knowing how much you care about birdies I am sure the paella kitchen has now a nesting role ;-)

Indeed they are, in our paella kitchen, as they have for the last 6-7 years and one chick was seen by Carol just now but she also says she has only seen one adult for the last few days, maybe the other was sitting quietly on the eggs.
