Timber Rattlesnake (Southern Variation)

Description:

Approximately 55 inches in length with 16 rattles; this Timber Rattlesnake possessed dark bands with the reddish stripe along the midorsal region as well as the dark band behind the eye characterizing this as the southern variation

Habitat:

Found sunbathing on the road leading into the park at Bodie Island Lighthouse by a wooded area and wetland
