Barking Treefrog

Hyla gratiosa

Description:

I almost ran it over when I was driving home at night. Thankfully, it was large and very easy to spot on the road so I went around it. I walked back after parking at home, and it was still frozen in the street where it was when I passed it. I picked it up and it didn't struggle, so I wonder if it was in shock. I put him down in my yard and he hopped away after a little while.

Habitat:

Neighborhood on the edge of a forest
