Southern Cricket Frog

Acris gryllus

Description:

Light tan toad with many small warts along the skin. Also the frog has dark gray elongated spots along the side. There are also elongated almost tiger stripes all along the legs that vary in color from light brown to gray. Furthermore, you can see a light gray small triangular pattern on the back of the head from between the eyes and tapers off going down the backside.

Habitat:

Spotted along a hardwood forest just west of Tallahassee, FL. in Bear Creek Educational Forest

Notes:

Spotted during a field trip with NABA (North America Butterfly Assoc.) Hairstreak chapter.
