Hibiscus

Hibiscus lunarifolius Willd.

Description:

A tall robust herbaceous hibiscus to 1.5m (4-5ft)tall in a dense stand with each plant sending up a number of branches from near the base. The yellow bell shaped flowers opened singly from a relatively dense inflorescence of buds at the ends of the branches.

Habitat:

growing at the base and in the partial shade of a tree, along the edge of a seasonal drainage area which would be periodically but sporadically wet after heavy rain in what is otherwise a dry warm climate
