Tachycineta bicolor
Dark bluish gray wings, back and head, white face and chest. Long wings, short tail.
Over the Snake River.
Some were nice enough to land on a telephone wire or poles near a boat launch. They were feeding by flying low over the water and snagging small insects from the air or water's surface.
The nests under the bridge will belong to barn and cliff swallows, you have both that breed in range
Thank you! Is there a way to decide what the nests under the bridge are from? I thought they were neat.
The colony under the bridge doesn't belong to the tree swallow, they are cavity nesters. Many species will fly around near bridges together though
