Hibiscus bug

Tectocoris diophthalmus

Description:

This jewel bug is well known and common on native hibiscus. The genders and the nymphs are easily taken to be different species. Last visit, I saw only nymphs, so here is the adult.

Habitat:

Near the Cairns botanical gardens on wild native hibiscus
