I spotted these Pūtangitangi ducks & ducklings at Owhiro bay...They were swimming swiftly from Owhiro bay to Island bay, although the waves were pretty rough near the rocky coast, and we've been a bit worried for the ducklings...When we were leaving the area we noticed that the two adults were still leading the babies to Island bay, using safe waters, escaping the dangerous rugged coastline...

I found (and rescued) a tadorna duckling in Sumner Christchurch, but I didn't expect to see a whole family in the sea...
