Coccinella transversoguttata
Large lady beetle with transverse black stripe across top of both elytra (wing covers), and a total of four bar-like spots.
Generally prefers fields, forest edges, prairies. This one was on a chokecherry tree where a riparian corridor meets a vast open field.
Not terribly common in recent years, perhaps due to the impact of the invasive "C-7," Coccinella septempunctata.
