A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Charadrius modestus
Known as Chorlo Chileno, it is a fearful bird of people. Migratory within the Chilean territory. In winter, it migrates to the north of the country, even reaching Peru
It is possible to find it in coastal edges, beaches, river drains, marshes and wetlands
It nests on the ground, solitary. The position is 2 to 3 eggs. Pollution of the beaches by the industry is leading to reduced feeding spaces.

Para mi siempre es un gran honor que haya sido nominado y ganador del SOTW. En mi territorio estoy atento a las aves migratorias, que viajan desde el hemisferio Norte, Alaska, hasta Chiloé para alimentarse. Es un espectáculo!

Thank you Machi!! :)
Your spotting has been nominated for the Spotting of the Week. The winner will be chosen by the Project Noah Rangers based on a combination of factors including: uniqueness of the shot, status of the organism (for example, rare or endangered), quality of the information provided in the habitat and description sections. There is a subjective element, of course; the spotting with the highest number of Ranger votes is chosen. Congratulations on being nominated!
