Malurus cyaneus
Blue, grey and black with whitish breast. Perky long fairy-wren tail, held erect a lot of the time. Very small and fast.
Found along the southeast coast of Australia from Adelaide to Brisbane, Queensland, as well as in Tasmania. These birds had a nest in ivy on a wall along the Coogee to Bondi Coastal walk. Great to watch - but we didn't look for the nest as it would have exposed it to the Ravens and all the walkers....
Holding a fly? in his beak for feeding to young.
