Dead Man's Finger

Description:

A small black fungus growing on a dried twig. Has a long oval shaped head and a thin stem. About 40mm in height.

Habitat:

Forest floor of Bukit Gemuk (Fat Hill), Tawau, Sabah.

Notes:

>>>Map accuracy: 500m diameter. While hiking up the hill, Dan spotted this fungus. He said these type of fungi are fairly common so he spotted more dead man's fingers and cup fungi beside the forest trail. He is an expert in spotting these kind of fungi. I have been living here for at least 15 years and I had never seen one of these! Special thanks to DanDoucette for getting me my first Dead Man's Fingers spotting.

Well I wouldn't say expert, more like specialist! Just kidding! Haha! I'm just glad I could find something new for you in your own backyard.
