An awesome growth of pixie cup lichen found in moist woodland during a hike. This is actually a two in one spotting. Pixie cup lichen grows on moss of certain species. This specimen is growing on Polytrichum strictum. I really like these lichens because they look like something out of a fae garden.
Occurs in Europe, North America, down into South America and even in the Antarctic.
