A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Anolis carolinensis
Native to North America, where it is found mainly in the warm southeastern parts of the continent. Arboreal in nature but may be seen on the ground, on shrubs, and it is also a common sight in urban areas on steps and railings, adjacent to foliage. Their preferred habitat is moist forests, and brushy clearings.
Spotted while chasing another smaller male off of its tree by the entrance to the Nature Center.
