28-35 mm long (1-1.3")

Habitat:

On a picnic table next to the spring-head at Silver Springs State Park. Very tolerant of me and my camera. According to Bugguide.com: Ranges from PA - FL, IA-MS- AR

Notes:

Preys on large flying insects. Has even been reported to attack Ruby-throated Hummingbirds. (oh my!)
