Snowy Owl

Bubo scandiacus

Description:

Horicon Marsh is an incredible place to observe wildlife. Each season brings a unique variety of birds. I was fortunate to witness a few Snowy Owls close, before word got and a swarm of people arrived to catch a glimpse of a usually rare bird in Wisconsin. This overcast day produced one male, one female, and a juvenile. I caught this guy coming in for a landing on a muskrat mound... watched him all day. What a sight!
