Description:

Ommatius is a genus of robberflies that is part of the subfamily Asilinae, they take advantage of higher terrain overlooking the hunting ground in which they wait paitently until they spot a prey, they usually attack as the prey is in flight. They get their names from their notoriously agressive predatory behavior.

Habitat:

Farmland, mixed tropical forest.
