spotted from residential dock on the Indian River

Notes:

A friend caught this animal in a cast net. I found it on the dock and returned it to the water.

Thank you much, Muckpuk, Yuko, and Cindy. Interestingly these sea slugs spend part of their younger lives with shells just like snails. As they outgrow those shells they develop the leafy protrusions that mimic sea grasses and macroalgaes.

Thanks, Luis. I don't recall ever seeing one of these. I was on the dock today and there are dozens of them on the river bottom.
