Pleasing Fungus Beetle

Erotylus sp.

Description:

Large brightly coloured fungus beetle from the family Erotylidae. Basically hairless and black with characteristic yellow stripe along the base of the wing case. The bulk of the wing cases covered in lines of red and yellow dots.

Habitat:

Found on foliage at night off the Manu Road, Amazonian Peru.

Notes:

This is a huge family of beetles conatining at least 5 sub families and over 100 genera. Unfortunately I cant find the actual species but if anyone has any ideas I would like to hear about it.
