Pictured here is female, body dark-reddish with white stripes (camouflage coloring), long neck, long legs and no horns. Large geometric whitish spots on the neck. Juvenile similar, male heavier with spiral horns.
Awash National park is semi arid to arid steppe, with tall grasses and some acacia trees and shrubs. River Awash runs through the park, and there is a forest on banks.
