Green Lacewing

Chrysopidae

Description:

Small green moth like insect.

Habitat:

Tropical island in the South Pacific near the ocean, surrounded by forest.

Notes:

Found on a plant in my garden sipping nectar. The nearby forest has been decimated in recent years with only half of the trees left. So thrilled to find out that the larvae of these eat aphids. Kingdom:Animalia Phylum: Arthropoda Class: Insecta Order: Neuroptera Suborder: Hemerobiiformia Superfamily: Chrysopoidea Family: Chrysopidae
