I agree with Karen that this is likely to be a flat-backed millipede. I find them relatively often in our area, but I have never been able to identify them down to the species.
I suspect, but cannot confirm that it may be Apheloria virginiensis.

This is a flat-backed millipede. Can't get narrowed to genus or species yet. Check bugguide.net .
