The Reddish egret is a medium size heron. The feathers from this bird used to be used for it's plumes.

Nice photo of the plumage. I really enjoy watching Reddish Egrets using the dancing behavior with wings out spread to herd fish. Siesta Key is one of my favorite beaches in Florida.
