Black-dotted Ruddy Moth

Ilexia intractata

Description:

Two individuals of the same species, seen on the same night in the same area. Both moths were similar in size. First moth was a warm brown color with dark lines and white wedge-shaped markings. Second moth was more tan and had fainter markings (perhaps worn), but when compared, the markings were consistent.

Habitat:

Neighborhood with small areas of temperate woodland and fresh water streams. Attracted to a porch light at night.
