Yes, there are many common names. That's what's appealing about Scientific names (in theory at least), as there is one and only one for each species :-)
Sometimes depending where you live in the world they have their own unique name of animals and plants which makes me confused until I joined Project Noah that helped me identified all species...Thanks guys.

I always thought of Peruvian lilies as being more colorful, isn't this a Spider lily, genus Hymenocallis (assuming the photographed plant is from a garden and not a native of Malaysia), possibly H. littoralis although there are 60 species to choose from apparently
I have always called these Peruvian Lilies. We have someting different in Florida called Cat's Whiskers.
