Tamiasciurus douglasii

Description:

Smaller than the Gray and larger than the Red squirrels. Silver and dark bushy tails, and body with reddish on legs. Dark stripe along the flank between the back and belly colors. Can be reddish or these white belly. White partial eye rings. Slight tuft on ears.

Habitat:

These were found in the high elevations of the Sierras in pine and other conifers.
