Description:

Beautiful creamy white mushroom growing beneath a Douglas Fir. Fairly small root attachment supporting this mushroom.

Habitat:

Pacific northwest temperate rain forest. Douglas fir, Hemlock, Cedar, Red alder, and Bigleaf maple with an understory of Oregon grape and Sword fern.

I gently fried this mushroom with onions in butter and finished with cream and salt & pepper. Simple and delicious!
