Chrysoperla carnea
A row of lacewing larvae hatchlings emerging from their eggs.
El Jardín Botánico de Medellín, Colombia.
They use their little hairs to collect detritus and hold it to itself for camouflage like in this earlier capture: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/121... If anyone knows how to distinguish between Chrysoperla carnea and Chrysopa, please let me know!

I never would have thought "cute", but now that you mention, they are!
Leuba, I had been seeing the eggs on all my outings, and they were amazing enough. I'm glad I was able to capture this unique moment.
Allen, thanks for sharing this wonderful spotting. I get to see so many of these delicately laid eggs but never with hatchlings - with all those "hairs" I can now see how they attach all sorts of stuff to themselves.
What a wonderful spot! Amazing how their strings (?) are evenly spaced and has almost exactly the same length! The hatchlings are so cute also!
