Two-spot Snapper

Lutjanus biguttatus

Description:

It is a slender fish, dark brown above, paler brown-yellow below, with a broad white stripe laterally. There are two white spots high on the back. The species grows to about 20 cm in length.

Habitat:

It occurs on coral reefs in tropical marine waters of the Indo-West Pacific. Inhabits coral reefs and outer reef slopes. Sometimes in large schools of more than 100 individuals. Often solitary. Feeds mainly on small fishes and crustaceans.

First time I saw them too, and only in Balicasag. Apparently they are not very common.
