Southern Two-striped Walkingstick

Anisomorpha buprestoides

Description:

The female was nearly 3 inches long with a dark red brown body with three dark stripes the length of the body. The male was about 1.5 inches long with a lighter brown with darkish stripes the length of his body

Habitat:

These were found in the back yard of a Houston residence near a row of shrubs. There were several.

Notes:

As Texas is not my normal stomping grounds, I am always happy to find something there when visiting family. This was a two-fer.
