Northern Ringneck Snake

Diadophis punctatus edwardsii

Description:

At approximately 6 inches this appears to be a young ringneck snake and it also has a darker appearance on the dorsal side than the adults. I did not, however, get to see its underside.

Habitat:

Wooded habitat neighboring a residential area and roadway; Found under a large pile of freshly fallen leaves
