Three-toed Amphiuma

Amphiuma tridactylum

Description:

Aquatic salamander with tiny little legs, and each foot has three toes as the name suggests. They are long and slender, can get over 1 m long.

Habitat:

Caught in a trap while sampling for herps with my school. Trap was placed overnight in a swamp surrounded by oak forest. Was released back to the swamp after some photos.
