Brown Elfin Saddle

Gyromitra infula

Description:

Solitary tan coloured mushroom with tan stipe which is darker at the base.

Habitat:

Pacific temperate rain forest.

Notes:

I think this is a Brown Elfin Saddle but I wonder if it could be a Hooded False Morel. Found along the Saunders Trail in Mission, BC.

Thank you.

I have rec'd a new suggestion that this may be a jelly baby - Leotia lubrica. The reason given is that the stipe is the same colour as the cap.
