Scorpionfish

Description:

Look closely (not too close) Very well camouflaged. About 40 cm

Habitat:

At about 7 meters. In the Andaman, Near Phuket, Thailand.

Notes:

5 divers swam over him already and did not see him. I was at the back and spotted this beauty, maybe just because it was agitated and had its fins out. I noticed a different pattern on the coral.

Fair enough - they are tricky ones to identify to species level!

Hi Adam. Thanks for your suggestion. I looked at your picture ( nice one ) but I think mine was a lot bigger, than the raggy can get. I think it was a tassled scorpionfish but I am not so sure as the tassles are not so clear on the picture.

Could be a raggy scorpionfish - have a look at one I spotted, not that far from yours:
