Fox Squirrel

Sciurus niger

Description:

These are three different specimens of eastern fox squirrel, but I figured it wasn't necessary to create three different entries for the species. I found these particular squirrels around my neighborhood area, all on the same block. The one on the side of the tree and the one higher up in the tree are in fact on the same tree. Possibly a mating pair? Not sure.

Habitat:

Gray squirrels range throughout the eastern half of the United States and southeast and south-central Canada.
