Columbina squammata
It measures between 18 and 22 centimeters long and weighs between 48 and 60 grams. The dove scaled dove has the tops of grayish brown color, face and chest pinkish gray, throat is white and the distal wing of shelters are also white and form a white spot visible on the wings when they are closed. The tail is dark with the tips of the white rectrices, with a white band in the lateral tail, noticeable when the bird is in flight. Dark eyes, pink legs and gray beak, this typical of columbiformes birds. It presents "scaly" appearance caused by the dark edges of the feathers of this bird. The most striking feature of this species is the scaled pattern of plumage, which provides you with effective camouflage. While in flight you can see a white band on the wing base, their primary pinions are brown in color.
It can be found in the South, Southeast and Northeast of Brazil.
