Smew ♂

Mergellus albellus ♂

Notes:

A month earlier I spotted the female at the Amsterdamse Waterleidingduinen, but the male was nowhere to be seen (http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/898...). now it is here in the park swimming amongst the rare birds of the world. The funny thing about this bird is that his Dutch name is nun. The name was given to the male bird because he's nun like plumage. The last picture shows a female and a male.
