Silver Gull

Chroicocephalus novaehollandiae

Notes:

Silver gulls are common Australian coastal birds. They are very successful scavengers and will eat just about anything. Eating fish and chips on the beach can be a scary exercise for humans if there is a flock of silver gulls around!!!

Thanks Satyen, Alice and Karen! I don't normally think of seagulls as 'elegant', but this one was. : )

Thanks Daniele! I think this was a particularly-spiffy looking gull.
