Passer griseus
Rather large sparrow, slightly larger than his cousin House sparrow, some 15 cm in length; with grey head and black beak, rufous brown mantle and wing covers; and whitish to grey-brown underparts.
Occupies rather large distribution area and wide diversity of habitats, south of sub-Saharan belt. Here, observed on several occasions in urban setting of Kinshasa; mainly open spaces around parks and gardens.
