Bright orange with dark lines dividing the wings up into numerous bars and cells. Lacks contrasting bands above or below wings. Some hindwings cells contain dark spots, but there are no such spots on the forewing.

Season: flies year-round Food: Adults feed on nectar. Larvae eat foliage of plants in the family Acanthaceae, including Hairy Tubetongue (Siphonoglossa pilosella).

Thank you, Agnes for the link. I've saved it in my browser. As for the suggestion. It doesn't match. Mine has circular dots on the hind wings and front wings with a reversal in color from front to hind. And the Glanville Fritillary seems to be lacking spots on the front wings.

Thank you for the ID suggestion AndresHernandez. Unfortunately those names don't bring me anything in my searches. I can say that this butterfly was about half the size of the Fritillary's. And I'm not finding anything that matches in the Fritillary's nor the Checkerspots.
