I was reading about this in Pojar & Mackinnon's Plants of the Pacific Northwest Coast, and I found it interesting that there isn't much record of natives using it for food, despite spring beauty being a big favorite among people who look for wild edibles now. I guess they used it for conditioner and "baby softening" before giving birth though...?
