Six spotted tiger beetle

Cicindela sexguttata

Description:

Maybe a half an inch long. Very fast-moving and quick to fly away when approached. I was lucky that I was able to get this shot. Be sure to notice the white spots on the beetle's side.

Habitat:

I often see these guys scurrying around on a gravel road that I walk on. This particular beetle was found in a deciduous forest.

Notes:

Iridescent green shell
