Witch-Hazel

Hamamelis virginiana

Description:

love the crazy shape of these blooms on this winter-flowering shrub of the PNW. the bush has a gnarled wild shape too!

Habitat:

Used in some native landscape projects, native to North America. I found this growing beside Lost Lagoon in Stanley Park, where they are trying to get rid of invasive introduced species and have planted some native flora. Great project, but I think the Himalayan blackberry is going to win out in the end!
