Smallmouth bass

Description:

Smallmouth bass can appear green or black but are generally brown. It has dark brown vertical bands. The upper jaw extends to the middle of the eye.

Habitat:

This fish is from Tamarac Lake. It can be found in clearer water and on sandy bottom lakes. It prefers cooler water temperatures where there is a good source of food: tadpoles, fish, aquatic insects and crayfish.

Notes:

Smallmouth bass is a species of freshwater fish in the sunfish family.
