Green lacewing

Chrysoperla

Description:

I was sitting on my porch watching birds on a cold winter's day, when I looked up and saw bits of wings from something on the roof (second photo). It turned out to be a green lacewing - a sight I never expected to see in the middle of winter. A BugGuide expert says it has the typical winter coloration so I guess it is not so unusual.

Habitat:

My yard
