A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Capparis spinosa
The plant is a shrub, oval in shape, with many branches. Leaves are thick, oval in shape, glossy and alternate. The flowers are white, with a strong sweet scent, striking. They have four white to pinkish-white petals, four sepals and many long violet-colored stamens. There is also only one stigma usually rising well above the stamens.
Grows in arid and semi-arid climates. Here seen growing directly from the wall.
This one is wild, but produces great capers to pickle.
